The Punjab Traffic Police will launch a province-wide awareness campaign in schools and colleges to educate students about juvenile driving permits, traffic laws and safe driving practices.
The campaign will begin after educational institutions reopen in August, according to instructions issued by SSP Traffic Syed Nadeem Abbas to Chief Traffic Officers and District Police Officers across Punjab.
Students to Learn Permit Procedure
During the awareness sessions, traffic officials will explain:
- Who is eligible for a juvenile driving permit
- How to apply through the legal process
- Required documents and conditions
- Basic traffic rules and road safety measures
- Responsibilities of young drivers
Eligible students will also be encouraged to obtain permits through the official procedure instead of driving without legal authorisation.
Campaign to Cover All Punjab Districts
The directives require traffic police officials to conduct the campaign effectively in educational institutions across all districts.
The initiative aims to reduce underage and unsafe driving by helping students understand that a permit does not remove their responsibility to follow traffic laws.
Schools and colleges are expected to coordinate with local traffic police teams once the campaign schedule is issued.
