The School Education Department has directed all government schools across the Rawalpindi Division to conduct flood preparedness drills as monsoon rains increase the risk of water damage and emergencies.
School heads have been instructed to take immediate safety measures for students, teachers, buildings and educational equipment.
Schools Told to Protect Records and Equipment
Administrations must secure:
- Computers and laboratory equipment
- Libraries and official records
- Furniture and other government property
- Vulnerable sections of school buildings
The drills will also help students and staff understand evacuation procedures and how to respond safely during heavy rainfall or flooding.
Rain Damage Must Be Reported
Schools have been ordered to report any rain-related building damage to the relevant district education authority without delay.
Each report must include details of the damage and an estimated repair cost.
The measures aim to prevent injuries, protect public property and reduce disruption to academic activities during the monsoon season.
