The Sindh government has announced 20,000 Google Career Certificate scholarships for students enrolled in public-sector universities across the province while inaugurating the Google Gemini for Education Corner at NED University of Engineering and Technology.
The initiatives were launched in collaboration with Google and Tech Valley Pakistan during a ceremony led by Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah.
20,000 Google Career Certificate Scholarships
Under the Google Career Certification Program 2026, 20,000 scholarships will be awarded to students studying at public-sector universities in Sindh.
The scholarships will provide access to internationally recognized professional certifications in high-demand fields, including:
- Artificial Intelligence (AI)
- Cybersecurity
- Data Analytics
- Project Management
- UX Design
- Digital Marketing
- E-Commerce
- IT Support
The program aims to equip students with industry-relevant digital skills and improve their employment prospects.
Google Gemini for Education Corner Opens at NED University
As part of the initiative, the government also inaugurated the Google Gemini for Education Corner at NED University.
The facility is intended to introduce students and educators to Google’s AI-powered educational technologies and promote the use of artificial intelligence in teaching, learning, and research.
Officials described the project as an important step toward strengthening digital education and innovation within higher education institutions.
AI Training for Government Leadership
The initiative extends beyond universities.
More than 40 cabinet members, advisers, and special assistants participated in a hands-on artificial intelligence training session conducted by Google for Education experts in partnership with Tech Valley Pakistan.
The training focused on practical AI applications and how emerging technologies can support governance and public administration.
Chief Minister Highlights Role of AI
Speaking at the ceremony, Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah said artificial intelligence has the potential to improve:
- Public service delivery
- Government decision-making
- Policy formulation
- Administrative efficiency
He emphasized, however, that AI should complement human judgment rather than replace it.

According to the Sindh government, these initiatives form part of the province’s broader digital transformation strategy, which seeks to:
