PECTAA Approves Pending Salaries of Three Managing Directors After Eight-Month Delay

The Punjab Education Curriculum, Training and Assessment Authority (PECTAA) has resolved a long-pending administrative matter by approving the release of salaries for three managing directors whose payments had remained on hold for the past eight months.

The decision follows approval by the Punjab Cabinet, bringing an end to a prolonged dispute over the officials’ remuneration.

Salary Payments Were Delayed Over Objections

According to available details, PECTAA had appointed three managing directors at the administrative level.

Each official was appointed with a monthly salary of Rs. 1 million, but salary payments were suspended after objections were raised regarding the approved pay package.

As a result, the officials reportedly remained without salary despite already assuming their positions.

Matter Referred for Review

Sources said the issue was later referred to the relevant provincial authorities for examination.

Following a detailed review:

  • Recommendations were prepared by the concerned authorities.
  • The recommendations were forwarded to the Punjab Cabinet.
  • The provincial cabinet approved the proposed recommendations.

The cabinet’s approval has now cleared the legal and administrative hurdles that had delayed the payments.
