Government high and higher secondary schools in Lahore have fallen short of their enrollment target, prompting the district education authorities to intensify the admission campaign.
According to the Lahore Education Authority, schools were required to enroll 393,000 students by March 5, 2026, but current enrollment stands at around 390,000.
Schools Told to Enroll More Students
The overall enrollment target for the academic year has been fixed at 430,000 students.
To help meet the target, each school head has reportedly been directed to enroll at least 10 additional students.
Schools must also conduct door-to-door campaigns to identify children who are currently out of school and encourage their families to complete admission.
Action Possible Against School Heads
Education authorities have warned that every school will be responsible for meeting its assigned enrollment target.
Heads of institutions that fail to improve admissions may face administrative action.
The campaign aims to bring more out-of-school children into classrooms and increase enrollment in Lahore’s government schools.
