The Sindh Education Department has decided to investigate an alleged embezzlement case involving school-specific budget funds after a suspended government employee was accused of submitting fake and altered bills.
The employee, identified in reports as Mohammad Ali, allegedly established a company and became a vendor supplying goods to government schools despite remaining under suspension.
Employee Accused of Submitting Fake Bills
According to the reported allegations, Mohammad Ali prepared fake or tampered invoices for goods claimed to have been delivered to different schools.
He was also accused of submitting questionable bills connected with District Education Officers.
The exact value of the alleged financial irregularities has not yet been disclosed.
Education Department Launches Investigation
After the reported irregularities came to light, the Sindh Education Department decided to initiate a formal investigation.
The inquiry is expected to examine the employee’s alleged role as a vendor, the authenticity of the submitted bills and whether other officials were involved in approving or processing the payments.
Strict Action Promised Against Those Involved
A spokesperson for the Education Department said strict action would be taken against every individual found involved in corruption.
Any further action will depend on the findings of the departmental investigation.
Employee Was Previously Suspended
According to the report, Mohammad Ali had previously been suspended and directed to report to the Education Department after allegedly being caught cheating during matriculation examinations.
The latest accusations are separate from that earlier matter and remain subject to investigation.
The department has not yet announced a timeline for completing the inquiry or releasing its findings.
