Punjab Appoints New Chairpersons for All Nine BISE Boards

The Punjab government has announced the appointment of new chairpersons for all nine Boards of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISEs) across the province.

According to a notification issued by the Services and General Administration Department (S&GAD), the appointments took effect on July 1, 2026, and will remain valid until December 31, 2027, under the Punjab Deputation Policy, 1998.

The newly appointed chairpersons are:

Appointment Tenure

Under the official notification:

  • Effective Date: July 1, 2026
  • End Date: December 31, 2027

The appointments have been made in accordance with the Punjab Deputation Policy, 1998.

Chairman BISE Allowance

The notification also states that the newly appointed chairpersons will receive a special “Chairman BISE Allowance.”

The allowance will be equivalent to one initial basic pay of the respective pay scale assigned to each chairperson.

Role of BISE Chairpersons

Chairpersons oversee the administration and functioning of their respective Boards of Intermediate and Secondary Education. Their responsibilities include:

  • Supervising examination processes.
  • Ensuring transparency in board operations.
  • Overseeing result compilation and announcements.
  • Managing academic and administrative affairs of the boards.
  • Implementing provincial education policies related to examinations.
