KP Launches First Virtual School System with AI Teacher

In a groundbreaking move, the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has launched Pakistan’s first public sector virtual school system, introducing an AI-powered teacher.

The initiative has been approved by Chief Minister Sohail Afridi as part of a broader plan to modernize education in the province.

AI Teacher to Transform Learning Experience

Under this new system:

  • Students will be taught through an AI-based teacher
  • Subjects include:
    • English
    • Mathematics
    • Physics
    • Chemistry
    • Biology

The AI teacher will be available 24/7, allowing students to learn anytime.

Multilingual and Personalized Learning

One of the key features of this system is:

  • Availability in Urdu, English, and Pashto
  • Personalized learning experience for each student
  • Reduced burden on teachers

This ensures accessibility for a wide range of students.

Virtual Schools Already in Pilot Phase

Officials confirmed that:

  • 46 government schools have already shifted online
    • 33 in settled districts
    • 13 in merged districts

Plans are underway to expand the system to:

  • 175 additional schools

Opportunity for Overseas & Out-of-School Students

The initiative will also benefit:

  • Overseas Pakistani students
  • Children who are currently out of school

These students will now receive the status of regular students through the virtual system.

Central Digital Teaching System Introduced

The project includes:

  • A central digital teaching studio
  • Live interactive classes
  • Recorded lectures for later access

This ensures a structured and flexible learning environment.

Investment and Future Plans

The government has allocated:

  • 💰 Rs153.8 million for the project
  • 💰 Rs44.85 million for a tele-education hub

Authorities are also planning to establish an AI Education Authority to oversee future developments.
